The promo video shows - for the UK1 software - the words "London Eye" and "Big Ben" underlined with an arrow pointing to the object. But this feature is not included in the actual software.
In fact there is no indication of which POI is included in Sofly's commentaries, meaning that you have to fly around aimlessly, hoping that at some stage a commentary might start up.
And when there is a commentary the building or area isn't enhanced in any way, so you have to know what you're looking for - which is sort of what I would expect of a guide.
I was expecting the guide to direct me to the first POI, then the next etc but this feature is completely absent.
Or, there could be an accompanying file giving directions to the commentated POI's.
Would I recommend this? Not really.
I feel that just flying around, pausing and Googling the POI would achieve the same end result.
To be honest, i was a bit sceptic about the idea but i was mistaken. For a non-UK based "pilot" i found it very interesting and a nice touch to my VFR-flying in that area. I can feel this has potential but even now it is already a very nice add-on. Especially for that price. I would be even better if you could have like a serious voice and then a more jolly local accent :-) ...
