An Update on EGGD Bristol Airport

We wanted to share a brief update with you about Bristol Airport following our announcement during FlightSimExpo 2025.

Progress is coming along nicely, with many of the buildings now completed, along with their placement. We are working through weathering the buildings and making textures across the ground and terminals as realistic as possible, whilst maintaining a slightly creative flair to match the sim's environment.

Two big pieces of feedback we had with Hannover are being addressed with Bristol. Firstly, we are modelling the interior based on reference material. We are not promising a true 1:1 representation, but something that is as close to it as possible. Some areas are simply not possible to be authentic, but we are hoping you will notice key areas and appreciate the detail we have gone to. Secondly, we have invested time and money into custom ground service equipment and specific buses (the A1) for BRS. Whilst the 'liveries' of the GSE you see is not final, we hope you appreciate the new models we've made, which will benefit future and past projects too.

The final bit of news we have to share on Bristol is the fact that we are currently developing EGGD Bristol Airport exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Following Sim Update 3, and a change in usage amongst simmers, we are confident in the simulator's future. Whilst we initially announced plans for a MSFS 2020 release, we have feel as though we will be making the best version of the airport possible by sticking to the next generation simulator. We acknowledge that this change may be disappointing for some, but we strongly feel it will only benefit simmers in the longer term. This change does not affect other SoFly products.

We are still on target for a Q3 2025 release.
