In June 2025, during FlightSimExpo, we announced our newest product, Aircraft Sound Enhancer.
We wanted to give the community a brief update on our status with the product, including an update on our current timeline.
Firstly, thank you to everyone for your feedback on our initial announcement. We gave you just a taste of what is to come. Since then, our teams and partners have been working hard on improving the panel, the sound effects, and enhancing the overall product. We are really pleased with the progress, and we're confident that this will be an indispensable product for many of you.
We are working with sound engineers on ensuring our ATC voices are working great and that all the sound effects play at appropriate times. As we want to ensure you have the most options possible, DARKOCEAN is hard at work on refactoring parts of the panel so that, regardless of your aircraft, you can save all the options. You will have access to official profiles by default, plus the ability to make your own and even import community-made ones.
Here's a brief summary of where we're at:
- All sound effect files have been received courtesy of the folks at Echo19
- 60% of the sound effects are now in the simulator, with accurate logic, elements of randomness, and other easter eggs
- The panel is functional in the simulator, with some progress still to go. We're expecting this to be completed in the next week or so
- Over 5,000 ATC and pilot audio lines have been created, with work no on sound engineering it to sound as authentic and realistic as possible
This project has been a massive undertaking and we're excited with how things are shaping up.
We are working hard to ensure that Aircraft Sound Enhancer is our newest flagship product, which requires us to ensure that it meets and exceeds your quality expectations. Whilst we had planned to release it this "summer," we're now expecting it to be a little later than planned.
To be as transparent as possible, our current timeline is to have Aircraft Sound Enhancer with our beta testers mid-September, with an aim to release at some point in October. We understand this comes as disappointing news, but we're keen to make sure that we provide a quality product from version 1.0.0.
Thank you for your understanding. Once we are in our beta testing, we will be sharing more news and previews.
