We are just about a week away now from the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and we at SoFly cannot be more excited. The new simulator will open up brand-new opportunities and allow us to create even more unique and exciting products in 2025 and beyond.
Before we reveal our 2025 roadmap, we wanted to pause to ensure customers knew our strategy for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and products you may have already purchased with us. With nearly 50 products under our brand, we need to ensure we offer a compelling and clear plan for all of our customers.

Whilst the statement that “most products will work” is somewhat true, there are some which will need minor changes in order to be fully compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. We are going to call those compatibility updates. This will be free of charge for customers looking to use those products in the new simulator.
This will include all of the following:
- Our entire ‘Explore’ series
- Our entire ‘Global Landings’ series
- Landing Challenge Pro
- Animals
- EcoSoundScapes
- STORM
Other products from us are compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, but will feature data and information from Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. So whilst you may drag and drop them into your new ‘Community’ folder, they will display outdated information. This includes:
- Aircraft Checklist Pro
- A Guide to Flight Simulator: Extended Edition
- A Complete Guide to Flight Simulator 2020 (previously known as A Complete Guide to Flight Simulator 2023)
Scenery Releases
So far, we have covered most of our mission and guide packages. How about our airport releases? We are pleased to confirm that all airport products released by SoFly will be either compatible or enhanced completely free of charge for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This includes:
- Mataveri Airport - SCIP
- Skopje Airfield Collection
- Cardiff Airport - EGFF
- Ohrid Airport - LWOH
New Product Announcements
We are excited to share two brand-new products with you all.
Shortly after the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, we will release Weather Preset Pro V2. This is an all-new, built-from-the-ground-up product that features 200 weather presets that take full advantage of the new weather engine in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. It will be for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 only and will completely re-define your experience of weather in the simulator.
Expect new cloud formation, terrifying situations, and much more in this all-new exciting pack. We will share more details with you very soon.
Customers who own Weather Preset Pro currently will receive a special upgrade price*.
Our second product, as you may have guessed, is a brand-new guidebook. A Guide to Flight Simulator 2024 is a completely brand-new guide designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. It will give you everything you need to know about the new simulator, the included aircraft, how to progress in the career mode, and much more.
This will follow a few weeks after the release of the new simulator, but ahead of the festive period and end of the year. It will be a stunning guidebook that will be available as a digital PDF and as an in-sim component via the toolbar. Following publication in 2025, our aim is to also print a limited run of physical copies of our guidebook, following many requests from before.
Customers who own A Guide to Flight Simulator 2020 (formally known as A Guide to Flight Simulator 2023) will receive a special upgrade price*.
Enhanced Edition Products
We also plan on releasing a number of products that are Enhanced for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and its new capabilities. Both Aircraft Checklist Pro and Aircraft Lighting Pro will receive ‘2024 Editions’ that will add aircraft from the new simulator. Expect all the checklists from those products and enhanced lighting effects when we release those independent products.
Depending on our schedule, we aim to release them between December 2024 and April 2025.
As with other products, we will be offering customers a special upgrade price*.
Our Future Products
Wherever possible we will endeavour to release both FS2020 and FS2024 versions simultaneously. This is the near-term plan and we will communicate should this change. Early in 2025, we will reveal a more definitive roadmap and which releases will be FS2020 & FS2024, or FS2024 only.
