EcoSoundScapes Updated to v2.0.0

EcoSoundScapes Updated to v2.0.0

We are pleased to announce that EcoSoundScapes has been updated to version 2.0.0. The free update was a lot of hard work and effort from our team in order to address issues found since we launched the product back in June.

Primarily, the new update addresses bugs and performance issues we discoverd post-launch thanks to the community's amazing reports. We completely rebuilt many aspects of the product to provide a much more reliable and stable product, whilst still delivering on the promise of an immersive new sound pack for your world.

We began the journey of addressing performance issues due to the number of SimObjects we were loading throughout the world. Namely, we injected something like 250,000 all at once (eek), but assumed LOD would help ensure people didn't have issues. We were kind of mistaken here and we needed to completely reevaluate how this worked. We completely rebuilt how this worked and now we only load those SimObjects within a very specific radius of the user at any time.

We also found soon after launch that in some scenarios that sounds wouldn't play and even would force other sound effects to stop working. MSFS only has a limited number of sounds it can play at once and once you add AI traffic, complex engine start-ups and other effects, we reached that limit quick... This new method of injecting sounds means we shouldn't hit that limit anymore. Sounds will play accordingly and the manual mode works each time, reagrdless.

Another bit of feedback was that sounds were far too loud in the cockpit. We have addressed this by now having a bounding box around the cockpit, meaning once you go inside, you won't be deafened by the sound of birds and car horns.

Overall, version 2.0.0 is a huge improvement over the original release. We appreciate customer's patience during this time, but we assure you we have a much better product now because of it.

You can get your free update from your account right now.

For anyone looking to purchase EcoSoundScapes, you can purchase it now for £15.00 (plus tax), saving you 25%.

Yes, our plan is to make it fully compatible with MSFS 2024.
