A Must Have for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

Extremely helpful for a beginner starting at square one. Right from the beginning answering questions I had. Worth way more than the asking price. Thank you so much!

A Guide to MS Flight Sim Extended Edition

I bought this product on the hope it would answer the many questions MS Flight Sim 2020 assumes you already know. I am not new to flight sims but I can assure you that this product is ideal and relevant to newbies and experienced enthusiasts alike. I have learned so much about flying and flying using the sim. I can not praise this product enough and it has saved me hours trawling through YouTube videos. Buy this now!!!

Best Guide for MSFS 2020

As having purchased guides for MSFS since 1986 thru many different versions and from my different publishers including MS and this is the best with information and outstanding photos. I have read a number of the guides offered on Amazon Kindle and this guide by SoFly cannot be touched by any of them.
Plus they have outstanding customer service! Plus they give you free updates.
So if you don’t have a guide, purchase this one as soon as you can, you will never regret it!

Well Constructed Book.

Having taken up MSFS 2020 earlier this year (2022), I was a bit confused with the beginners area. Old age creeping in. LOL I looked for a guide for using it. After checking any number of books, many of which I found did not live up to their blurb of being the best. I eventually decided on A Guide to Flight Simulator: Extended Edition! and I am glad I did. It is well laid out and easy to follow instructions tells you all you need to know. Well Done!

As Good as it Gets!

A Guide to Flight Simulator should be called "A Guide to FS2020"! It is a tremendous help for anyone interested in getting a Pilot License. FS2020 has awesome photo-realistic graphics but unfortunately (for me anyways), FS2020's "Training Lessons" were lacking! Especially "Improvement Explanations!" For example, Flying the "Pattern", 1st Solo, 1st VFR Trip, etc. were not as knowledgable as the old FSX version.... Allow me to explain.
The first six lessons (out of 8 lessons) had me landing with an "A" on my report card. (You receive points in three different categories for each lesson and anything over about 8,000 points total, gives you an "A" on your Report Card!)
The 7th and 8th lessons I received "B's" ... and my instruction would say something like "Not bad! But you can do better!" Better at what? Better where? What did I do wrong? Looking at the three "categories" and the amount of points earned in each category was helpful for where "precision" could be better but did not pinpoint why the points received weren't up to "parr".(?) A real (or virtual) instructor should be giving you tips and pointers when your heading, altitude, air speed, etc. are not correct! My elementary spelling teachers would always circle the words spelled wrong on the test, ... not say, ... "You missed three out of twenty! You could do better!" Sure, I could get out the dictionary and look up each word and check for spelling but that takes time! Don't make us go over the same lessons several times, quessing where we went wrong! Just tell us and make us do it right! Move on!
I was optimistically wishing and hoping that "A Guide to..." would fill in some of the expectations of each training mission and explain "How to get straight "A's" on your "Report Card" but it didn't.
In conclusion, the book is still an asset for anyone new to FS2020 and I found the Garmin 1000 radio section is excellent for newbies to first time "glass panel" cockpits!
Let me re-emphasize, the book does a nice job of covering the basics of FS2020. I just wish FS2020 had kept the FSX's training protocols! FSX was much better in that regard! FS2020 wins for graphics (as they should, after what, a 12 year hiatus?) However, FS2020 is a very big regression for actual lessons and instructions. Hopefully, Microsoft (or Asobo), will come out with a Virtual CFI and CFII we can purchase for working on our "Virtual Licenses".

I was hoping (after receiving my PPR (Private Pilot Rating) and my IFR ( Instrument Flight Rating) about 30 years ago, that FS2020 would be an upgrade from FSX's Training Lessons but it's NOT!
Being a licensed IFR pilot I used FSX as a "refresher course" to keep from becoming "rusty". Unforunately, FS2020 doesn't have any training lessons for certifications like PPR, IFR, Commercial, Twin Engine Rating, etc. (whereas FSX did!
